Biafra: a painful chapter in Nigeria’s history


Fifty years ago, the Igbo people of southeast Nigeria seceded, declaring an independent Republic of Biafra and sparking a brutal civil war that left about one million people dead.

On May 30, 1967, the military head of Nigeria’s eastern region, Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, declares “the independent Republic of Biafra”.

Biafra will come without war ― Kanu’s brother

YOUNGER brother to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IBOP, Prince Emmanuel Kanu has assured that the Biafra Republic being championed by his brother would be achieved without any war.

According to him, Nnamdi Kanu has engaged in what he called high profile diplomatic talks with notable world leaders and governments across the globe on how to peacefully restore Biafra.

Buhari, Nigeria's Most Labour-friendly President, Says Ngige


Chris Ngige, Nigeria's Minister of Labour and Employment, says Muhammadu Buhari is the country's most labour-friendly president.
He made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday to mark the 2019 Workers’ Day celebration.
According to Ngige, the President is determined to create an economy that would bring sustainable abundance to the people.

At least 1,071 persons lost their lives in crime-related cases across the country in the first quarter of 2019, Mohammed Adamu, the acting Inspector-General of Police, has said. 
Adamu disclosed this during the quarterly Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council meeting held in Kaduna on Tuesday in Kaduna.

Biafra group accuses Nnamdi Kanu


Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has indicted the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, for murder of Prophet Anthony Nwoko.
Nwoko was recently killed by unknown armed bandits in Ugbene 2, Nike area of Enugu State.
However, BNYL leader, Princewill Richard said they, “carried out an investigation on the killing where it discovered that the killers are not outsiders but within the Biafra community.”
